St Joseph's Bay

After leaving Milton, Florida and paddling Cold Water Creek, my son and I loaded up and drove to Port St. Joe, Florida for some kayaking and kayak fishing in the bay. This was his first trip to the Bay and he and I had a great time. We didn't catch any fish but caught several blue crabs and saw several sting rays and large unidentified fish swimming beneath the boat. Awesome experience!

Cold Water Creek, Milton Florida

Me (Brian) and my son went to Adventures Unlimited in Milton Florida to canoe and camp on the creek. With all the rain we were having around this time, the creek was a bit swollen and I feared it was too swift to chance taking my son down, especially since I had not been there before. Thankfully, after camping in their campground overnight, the creek level dropped significantly and allowed us the opportunity to make a day trip the next day. We had a really good time. Water was as expected, COLD, hence the name. Brackish water with sandy white shorelines. Beautiful place but very touristy in the Summer time.

We had 6 paddlers show up today for the Honeycomb Creek area paddle. It was a little colder and windier than expected but overall not too bad. We put in near Cathedral Cavern Highway, paralleled the causeway for awhile, went under the bridge on US 431 and went all the way down Honeycomb Creek until it met the main Tennessee. We stopped for a rest and snack break on Goat Island and then returned to the ramp.
